Aditya Pancholi files for anticipatory bail in rape case

Actor-producer Aditya Pancholi was recently booked for rape by Mumbai Police. Yesterday, Pancholi filed for an anticipatory bail in the Dindoshi sessions court. Hearing of this is likely to be held today. The rape case was filed against Pancholi by a Bollywood actress. In her case, the actress alleged that 10 years back, Pancholi harrassed her mentally as well as physically.

Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) Paramjit Singh Dahiya told Mid-Day, “We filed an FIR under Sections 376 (rape), 328 (causing hurt by means of poison, etc with intent to commit an offence), 384 (punishment for extortion), 341 (punishment for wrongful restraint), 342 (punishment for wrongful confinement), 323 (punishment for voluntarily causing hurt) and 506 (punishment for criminal intimidation) of the Indian Penal Code.”

Talking about the case, Aditya had said earlier that he knew this was coming and he is willing to fully co-operate with the proceedings.

After the case was registered against him, Pancholi had told ANI, “I am being falsely implicated in this case. I have all the evidence and video in this case. I am ready to cooperate with the Mumbai Police. If they will call me for my statement, then I will cooperate. I am ready for investigation. I knew that a case will be registered against me. I am not going anywhere. The police have not approached me after the FIR was registered.”
