After filing an anticipatory bail, Aditya Pancholi gets interim relief in rape case

A 36-year-old Bollywood actress filed a rape case against actor-producer Aditya Pancholi. Following the case registered against him, Aditya filed for an anticipatory bail in the Dindoshi sessions court. The court has granted interim relief to Pancholi from the arrest till July 19. In her complaint, the actress had alleged that almost 10 years back, Aditya harassed her mentally as well as physically.

Aditya and his wife Zarina Wahab had filed a defamation case against the actress in question. So citing this as a reason, Pancholi’s lawyer Prashant Patil said that the women waited for so many years to file a complaint only after Pancholi got a favourable order in the defamation case.

Prashant told PTI that the women’s birth date in her complaint and passport are different and that shows her intention to lie. The police had filed an FIR against Pancholi under Sections 376 (rape), 328 (causing hurt by means of poison, etc with intent to commit an offence), 384 (punishment for extortion), 341 (punishment for wrongful restraint), 342 (punishment for wrongful confinement), 323 (punishment for voluntarily causing hurt) and 506 (punishment for criminal intimidation) of the Indian Penal Code.

Earlier, Pancholi had stated that he is being falsely implicated and is willing to co-operate with the proceedings.
