Actor Aditya Roy Kapur, who plays the role of Noor in the forthcoming film “Fitoor” says that he had to work with different materials and melting metal was part of the job in order to get into the skin of his character.
Aditya who will be portraying the role of an artist in the Abhishek Kapoor directorial says that familiarising himself with different equipments was a part of his preparations for his role in “Fitoor”.
“As an actor, you have to come across as convincing… thats your job. We also had to work with different material like metal and wood wielding and melting metal. It was quite therapeutic to be melting metal… you do not get to do that on a daily basis,” Aditya told media here at the press launch of the film’s song “Pashmina”.
“To familiarise myself with the equipment… that was one side of it, the skill angle of it,” he added.
Stressing on the fact that creative people have their own way of processing, the 30-year-old said that he had to “wrap his head around what his character’s thought process might be”.
The film also stars Katrina Kaif, Tabu and Aditi Rao Hydari.
“Fitoor”, based on Charles Dickens’s novel “The Great Expectations”, will release on February 12.
