“After a point, I didn’t have any money”, Disha Patani makes a candid confession

Mumbai is the city of dreams. People from all over look upto this city that holds this power to make your dreams come true. A young girl from Uttar Pradesh sped off to this fancy city with dreams of becoming an actress and yes, she did it! We are talking about Disha Patani who has now become a familiar face in the film industry. She is currently basking on the success of his recently released film ‘Baaghi 2’ which is breaking records at the box office.

So during a recent interview, Disha simply recollected her journey from being a nobody to somebody in this industry. She candidly confessed that she had moved to Mumbai with just Rs 500 in her pocket and there was a time when she went broke. She spoke to Hindustan Times and said,

“I’m a very positive person. Maybe I was not prepared [at that time]. Also, I left my studies and I came to Mumbai. For a college girl to come to a new city not knowing anyone wasn’t easy. I was living alone, making my own money and never asked my family [for money]. I came to Mumbai with ₹500 and after a point, I didn’t have any money. I used to go for a lot of auditions, mostly for TV commercials, as there was this constant pressure on me that if I don’t get a job this month, how I will pay my rent. Everything I did was a job until I started to enjoy acting.”
