Anurag Kashyap

Earlier today, we came across the news that Deepika Padukone and Ranbir Kapoor have jointly decided to return approximately 15 crores to the producers of their film ‘Tamasha’ in order to divide the losses incurred by the film’s bad box-office performance. Apparently, the producer Sajid Nadiadwala and UTV had paid a hefty amount to the distributors of the film thinking that the film will make a good business on box-office. Unfortunately, this didn’t happen and the makers had to bear the loss.

Well, following this it’s the director Anurag Kashyap now who has decided to return money to the producers of his film ‘Bombay Velvet.’ Ranbir Kapoor and Anushka Sharma starrer ‘Bombay Velvet’ which hit the box-office in 2015 was a major disaster as it failed to entertain the audience. The movie also failed to get some critical acclamation and the result was the terrifying box-office collection. The film which was supposedly Anurag’s most ambitious project so far couldn’t even incur the production cost put in by the producers. Therefore, Anurag has decided to pay back the production cost to the Fox Star Studios, the producers and distributors of ‘Bombay Velvet.’ This would be done in installments say the reports. It took almost 90 crores for ‘Bombay Velvet’ to be made and Anurag Kashyap is planning to pay this amount by the end of the year in small installments.

Well, it seems that returning back the amount to the producers of a flop film is becoming the new trend in the Bollywood industry.
