Shahid Kapoor is all set to rule the silver screen with his performance as Maharawal Ratan Singh in Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s ‘Padmaavat’. Having a look at the trailer and dialogue promos of this epic period drama, the actor is already receiving praises from everyone for his royal look.
Looking at his dedication towards learning the skill before stepping into the shoes for each of his characters, he is now finally done with this historical character as he moves on to start preparing for his next project ‘Batti Gul Meter Chalu’. Reportedly, this film will see him playing a local from Uttarakhand. And for getting into the skin of the character, the actor has even hired a coach from Uttarakhand to learn the local language with perfect Garhwali accent. Directed by ‘Toilet – Ek Prem Katha’ fame director Shree Narayan Singh, ‘Batti Gul Meter Chalu’ will start shooting in Uttarkhand itself from the first week of February. The film reunites Shahid with actress Shraddha Kapoor after ‘Haider’. Apart from them, the film also stars actress Yami Gautam as the second leading lady.
The film is slated to release on August 31, 2018.
