After Sonu Nigam, Suchitra Krishnamoorthi opposes Azaan on loudspeaker

Sonu Nigam‘s remarks on Azaan landed him amid much controversy, eventually forcing him to leave Twitter. The singer even had a Fatwa issued against him after he referred to the use of loudspeaker of azaan as ‘Gundagardi’,  and ended up shaving his head. And now, another actress has joined the bandwagon.

Actress and singer Suchita Krishnamoorthi, yesterday morning, took to Twitter and wrote, “came home at 4.45 am 2 most aggressive/ ear shattering call of azaan. As we awaited the debate to dense up, a parody account of journalist Sagarika Ghosh replied to Suchitra and wrote, “While Hindoo celebs raise voice agnst Azaan, I remind dem its good to wakeup at BrahmaMuhurt acc to Hinduism. Azaan only helps to do so”.

Suchitra was clearly in no mood to back out. She quickly responded back, saying “i wake up at Brahmamuhurt of my own accord & do my prayers & riyaz.& yoga. I dont need public loudspeakers to remind me of my God or my duty”.

She, at the same, time wrote how she feels she has no objection to Azaan during the day and how the Azaan only seems to get louder after Sonu Nigam’s controversy happened.
