7 years of ‘Agneepath’: Hrithik Roshan reveals how KJo kept chasing until he said YES

From ‘Simmba’ to ‘Koffee With Karan 6’, Bollywood’s ace filmmaker Karan Johar has been in the limelight for quite some time now. And we all know that he is very smart and witty. Karan is always known for finding out the actor who can best suit a particular character for his films. Earlier, it was believed that no one could have played Vijay Deenanath Chauhan’s role in ‘Agneepath’ better than Amitabh Bachchan. However, in the remake of the classic, Karan Johar opted for Hrithik Roshan and we all know that he did justice to the role of Vijay.

When Karan Johar was making the film ‘Agneepath’, he was adamant on casting Hrithik Roshan and couldn’t stop pursuing him. The filmmaker pushed Hrithik to agree to his suggestions and pursued him. Hrithik firstly denied but Karan Johar continued to try until the actor agreed.

It is to be noted that Hrithik Roshan and Priyanka Chopra starrer ‘Agneepath’ has clocked 7 years of its release. On the occasion, reminiscing the same, Hrithik took to social media to share his experience of working on the remake of the classic. In an Instagram post, Hrithik shared a video of the iconic poem penned by Harivansh Rai Bachchan along with stills and glimpses from the film. He even wrote about how Karan didn’t stop trying and Hrithik finally agreed.

On the work front, Karan Johar is currently busy in the pre-production of his next directorial titled ‘Takht’. The film, which is a period drama stars Kareena Kapoor Khan, Anil Kapoor, Alia Bhatt, Ranveer Singh, Vicky Kaushal, Bhumi Pednekar and Janhvi Kapoor. The shooting of the film is expected to begin in May this year.

Hrithik Roshan is currently gearing up for his next ‘Super 30’ which is scheduled to hit the theatres on July 26, 2019. This film is inspired by true events and is based on the life of mathematician Anand Kumar.
