The popular stand-up comedy team ‘All India Bakchod’, popularly known as AIB. The show had Bollywood actors Arjun Kapoor, Ranveer Singh and director-producer Karan Johar on-board. The guests were accused of using obscene & abusive language. Santosh Daundkar, a city-based activist, filed an FIR against AIB organisers & Karan Johar, Ranveer Singh, Tanmay Bhat, Gursimran Khamba, Ashish Shakya, Aditi Mittal, Alia Bhatt, Rajeev Masand and Arjun Kapoor, Rohan Joshi, Deepika Padukone. However, AIB responded to it saying that the show was meant for limited viewers and that the language was “excessive, but within the bounds of humour”.
A number of people who are mentioned in the FIR, including Deepika Padukone, filed petitions in Bombay High Court. The Court has announced to commence the final hearing on February 9th and till then has directed the Mumbai Police not to file any charge sheet. The court also said that it would hear the petition challenging the FIR, before they proceed towards the final hearing.
