‘Airlift’ leaves Akshay Kumar in tears

Akshay Kumar the Khiladi of Bollywood has always come up as a macho man who has complete control over his emotions. The real truth is that the actor who can perform death defying stunts with an ease is a softie at heart. This emotional side of the actor was revealed while shooting a scne for his upcoming film ‘Airlift’.

‘Airlift’ is a true story set during the times of Kuwait War, when a number of Indians were left stranded in the war torn nation. Akshay Kumar is depictiing the role of Ranjit Katiyal, a powerful Indian origin businessman based in Kuwait who helps many to escape from the war zone. ‘The Lunchbox’ actress Nimrat Kaur is playing the role of his wife.

While shooting for a scene where the first flight from Kuwait with Indian evacuees takes off and the Indian Flag is raised. Much to the astonishment of all present, Akshay Kumar became quite emotional and broke down on the sets. The actor who was required to cry for the emotional scene ended up doing it without using glycerine.

‘Airlift’ revolves around the evacuation of lakhs of Indians from Kuwait during the Iraqi invasion.The movie will release on January 22, 2016.
