That is such a strong aftereffect of MNS’ threat to ban ‘Ae Dil Hai Mushkil’! Post the terror attack in Uri, Maharashtra Navnirman Sena had threatened not to allow the film’s release as it features Pakistani actor Fawad Khan. Not sure if Fawad’s character will be chopped off, but another major change has taken place in the meantime!
If reports are to be believed, then Aishwarya Rai Bachchan and Anushka Sharma’s characters, which earlier were of two Pakistani women, have been now changed. They now play two Indian Muslim women. How do we know?
In an earlier interview, designer Manish Malhotra who designed attires for ‘ADHM’, told a popular magazine, “Ae Dil Hai Mushki’ is going to be that film where the characters – Ranbir Kapoor, Anushka Sharma, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan and Fawad Khan are all dressed as people abroad but who are making a statement. Especially, in Anushka’s and Aishwarya’s case, it’s high street fashion mixed with labels. Both play Pakistani girls and their style has a mix of the cultures. ‘ADHM’ is a film close to my heart.”

But now, in a more recent conversation with another publication, Manish says, “Anushka plays a Muslim girl from Lucknow in ‘Ae Dil Hai Mushkil’. We have blended traditional and modern details throughout the movie. For her bridal look, we kept in mind the cultural direction of what a modern Muslim girl would opt for.”
Does this not clearly state that big changes happened?
Did MNS’ threat actually worry Karan Johar this much? Well we do hope the film releases without any further hassles!
