Aishwarya Rai Bachchan calls her Cannes 2024 Day 1 look ‘magical;’ remains unfazed by netizens’ criticism

Actor Aishwarya Rai Bachchan is known for taking risks when it comes to fashion on the red carpet of the Cannes Film Festival. While some are remarkable and leave an impact, some just leave a scar on the fashion police. There have been plenty of times when her look turned out to be a fashion blunder and well, 2024 is no exception. For the 2024 look at Cannes, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan picked a dramatic black outfit from the collections of Falguni Shane Peacock.

Though fans have already termed her Day 1 as a disaster, Aishwarya feels it looked ‘magical’. In a new interview with Vogue, Aishwarya talked about her day one look: “The look last evening on the red carpet was designed by my dearest friends Shane and Falguni Peacock. They call it gilded glow but to me, it was just magical.” She further talked about her makeup, saying the idea was to keep it easy and beautiful.

For the unversed, Aishwarya’s Falguni Shane Peacock black bodice dress comes with puffy white sleeves and a long cape with ‘velcro-ed’ golden flowers all over it. Moreover, the torso part had Golden foil details that were quite off-putting and didn’t really go well with the outfit. Ash was looking beautiful neck up but fans feel that the dress did not do any justice to her beauty. Netizens started brutally criticising her look but more so, it invited a plethora of memes on social media.

However, she did not redeem herself for her Day 2 look when she once again made another blunder from the same designer. The Devdas actor wore an elaborate and shiny dress that was made of foil tinsel. She was once again trolled heavily on social media as netizens didn’t approve of both of her looks.

Aishwarya Rai Bachchan returns to India

The Jodhaa Akbar actor has now returned to India along with her daughter Aaradhya. The mother-daughter duo looked lovely, making a refreshing statement at the airport. Aishwarya Rai attended Cannes 2024 despite her injuries.
