Aishwarya Rai Bachchan in Sujoy Ghosh’s ‘Durga Rani Singh’

Filmmaker Sujoy Ghosh has found the lead actress for his upcoming film Durga Rani Singh. After going through a gamut of top female actresses such as Kangana Ranaut, Vidya Balan and Kareena Kapoor. The filmmaker has zeroed upon Aishwarya Rai to depict the role of true life tough female cop.

The actress has been approached and has given her nod to the project too. This movie will also have talented actor Irrfan Khan paired opposite the female protagonist.

Aishwarya said, “I am doing three films — Karan Johar’s Ae Dil Hai Mushkil, the biopic on Sarabjit Singh directed by Omung Kumar and a film with Sujoy Ghosh. I think Sujoy’s films have gone to a later date. He had discussed two subjects with me — The Devotion Of Mr. X and Durga Rani Singh. We haven’t had the time to meet once Jazbaa rolled. It was announced in the media that The Devotion Of Mr. X was taking off and then announced that it was shelved, but I really don’t know what’s happening.”

Aishwarya further added that, “Sujoy has narrated both the subjects with me and now I have to figure out which one is there. But I know Durga Rani is on for sure.”

So after depicting the role of a fiery lawyer get set to see Aishwarya in tough cop role soon.
