‘2.0’ is the sequel to 2010 blockbuster ‘Robot’ starring Rajinikanth and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan. She played the role of Sana in the movie. When the teaser of ‘2.0’ was released, it was speculated that Aishwarya will be a part of the sequel but there was no confirmation on the same. Now all the speculations have come to an end, and it has been confirmed that Aish is also a part of the magnum opus.
In an interview with Behindwoods, when director Shankar was asked whether Aishwarya will be there or not, he said her character Sana is in the script but with a twist. He said that she will not be there physically in the movie but her character has been referred to multiple times. He said, “Aishwarya Rai is indeed a part of the script, but she doesn’t have a visual presence. There are multiple references to her character Sana, but she is not acting in ‘2.0’.”
Well, even though Aishwarya is not acting in the movie, we can feel her presence through the references. We wish she was there!
Amy Jackson is the female lead in the movie and she is playing a robot named ‘Mechanical Sundri’. Akshay Kumar is playing the antagonist, Dr Richard/Crowman, while Rajinikanth is playing Dr Vaseegaran and Chitti, the robot. Made on a huge budget of around 600 crore, ‘2.0’ is slated to release on November 29, 2018. Now, as per a report in News 18.com, the movie has already minted Rs 370 crore even before its release by selling digital and the satellite rights of all three versions.
