Aishwarya Rai Bachchan’s ethereal look from Ponniyin Selvan Part 1 leaves Abhishek Bachchan smitten

Actress Aishwarya Rai Bachchan is making a comeback into acting with Ponniyin Selvan after a gap of four years. She will star in Mani Ratnam’s magnum opus as Queen Nandini. The makers unveiled Aishwarya’s look from PS-1 on July 6. She looked ravishing and royal in the get-up of queen. Fans went gaga over her look and so also her husband Abhishek Bachchan is smitten.

Sharing the poster on Instagram, Aishwarya wrote, “Vengeance has a beautiful face! Meet Nandini, the Queen of Pazhuvoor! PS1 releasing in theatres on 30th September in Tamil, Hindi, Telugu, Malayalam and Kannada”. Abhishek shared the same poster on his Instagram Story with a red heart emoji.

PS-1 is Aishwarya and director Mani Ratnam’s fourth collaboration. The film also stars Vikram, Jayam Ravi, Karthi, Trisha, Jayaram, Aishwarya Lekshmi, R. Sarathkumar and Sobhita Dhulipala. It is jointly produced by Mani Ratnam’s Madras Talkies and Lyca Productions and is slated to hit the theatres worldwide on September 30 in Tamil, Hindi, Telugu, Kannada, and Malayalam. It will release in two installments.

Posters of Vikram and Karthi have been also been unveiled. Ponniyin Selvan is based on 1955 historical fiction novel of the same name, written by Kalki Krishnamurthy. The story is set in the period before Ponniyin Selvan (son of River Kaveri), later known as Rajaraja Chola who became one of the greatest emperors in Indian history.
