Aishwarya Rai Bachchan speaks about Salman Khan and ‘Bajirao Mastani’

Bollywood filmmaker Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s dream project ‘Bajirao Mastani‘ has finally taken shape.The project had been on a back burner since the fall out between ex lovers Salman Khan and Aishwarya Rai. Bhansali’s original cast was to have Aishwarya as Mastani, Salman as Bajirao and Rani Mukerji to essay Priyanka’s role of Kashibai.

Now the movie is finally being made with Deepika Padukone Ranveer Singh and Priyanka Chopra in the lead roles.

Recently while promoting her comeback film Jazbaa Aishwarya Rai touched upon the subject of working with Salman Khan in Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Bajirao Mastani. She said, “Even at the start of this movie (Bajirao Mastani), there was a certain casting that he was looking for. If that was to come to be… you all know that there was a possibility of me being Mastani if there was a certain Bajirao (Salman) he was trying to cast. But if that did not come to be then we had openly talked about it. It is not something to think over… fret over. Every film has its destiny and finds the way it is meant to be.”

Without touching on the controversial subject, she further added, “It is a very close bond that I share with Bhansali and because of that creativity we share close personal bond. My relationship with certain filmmakers is personally strong. And it is not only about work.”

We do hope that soon Aishwarya will collaborate with Bhansali.
