Aishwarya Rai Bachchan had maintained a distance from social  media but eventually, she gave in and made her social media debut with Instagram in May this year. During that time, the gorgeous actress was at the Cannes Film Festival 2018 and she made sure to keep her fans and followers posted with her appearances there, thought not too often. But Aishwarya is enjoying her time on Instagram, “It is wonderful,” she said in an interview with CNN-News18’s Rajeev Masand.

People had their inputs and opinions to give to Aishwarya on how to go about Instagram. Elaborating on it, she said, “There were a lot of opinions that trickled into it. They said, ‘What are you doing about it? Where’s your team?“. All the posts on her profile are done by her and most of them don’t have long messages or captions written along with it. Talking about the same, she shared yet another interesting thing. “People would go like ‘Why don’t you write something?’ And I was like, ‘If I want to or if I feel the need to, I’ll do it’. When I want to write a saga I’ll write it,” she said.

She further added, “Then they were like, ‘Is she really into a kid? Is she really into emoticons ?’ Yes, maybe that’s me too. I enjoy it. It’s kind of sweet and cute. Let them create some more, we’ll have a variety. But if this is what we have, this is what I choose.”

The actress is not very active on social media and is following nobody, not even her husband, Abhishek Bachchan or father-in-law, Amitabh Bachchan. She doesn’t even use her Instagram profile for her movie promotions too often. She is different from the herd. When asked about these things, she said, “This has always been me in every one of my choices. That’s what I mean when it comes from truth, from a place of absolute conviction. I can’t tell you how liberating it is. It’s so free.”

There are always two sides to everything, and for social media, it is all the love and praises being showered on one side, and the trolls on the other. Aishwarya has also been trolled and one example about that is a picture of her kissing Aaradhya, her daughter. Talking about the trolls, she said, “I look at it as an insight into minds. At the end of the day, it’s an insight, some kind of psychology or what’s really going on or how people think.”

If you want to be on social media and enjoy your time there, be like Ash, unaffected by the trolls!
