Ajay Devgn announces the release date of Maidaan; film to hit screens next year

Since the Maharastra government announced the re-opening of theatres, movie makers have started announcing the release dates of their upcoming movies. Ajay Devgn starrer Maidaan has also got its release date. The actor took to his Instagram to announce the release date and shared the important update with everyone. Ajay Devgn and Priyamani starring film Maidaan is scheduled to hit screens next year, on June 3. The film was initially slated to release on October 15, 2021, coinciding with the Dussehra weekend.

On Instagram, Ajay Devgn shared two posters of the film. The multi-lingual film is inspired by a true story and will see Ajay essaying the role of Syed Abdul Rahim. The first poster shows Ajay Devgn standing with his office bag and an umbrella in his hand, smiling away from the camera. The actor has a football under his foot. He is dressed in formal attire. The second poster shows a team of young boys on a football field, getting soaked in the heavy rain while taking instructions from their coach.

Sharing the film posters, Ajay wrote, “Maidaan, A story that will resonate with every Indian, a film that I feel very strongly about. Mark the date on your calendar. Maidaan is directed by Amit Sharma and produced by Zee Studious and Boney Kapoor. The film stars Ajay Devgn, Priyamani, Gajraj Rao, and Rudranil Ghosh.

On the work front, Ajay was last seen in the film Bhuj: The Pride of India. The actor has Thank God and other films in his kitty.
