Actor Ajay Devgn shared a harrowing experience of being injured in the eye, sustained while filming Singham Again under Rohit Shetty’s direction. He appeared on the show alongside Shetty, discussing the incident with the Bigg Boss host Salman Khan.
Ajay Devgn injured in Singham Again shoot
In a recent episode of Bigg Boss 18, Ajay Devgn recounted when he was injured in the eye while filming Singham Again. He was dressed in a black shirt beneath a leather jacket, complemented by trousers and dark sunglasses. Salman Khan inquired, “Aankh pe jo chot lagi thi yahi pe lagi thi kya?” To which Rohit Shetty promptly confirmed, “Hann iss film pe.”
Salman elaborated on the incident, recalling a conversation they had regarding a specific shot. “Ajay showed me a shot. There was a mistiming, and a person came to beat him with a stick, and its timing went off. So it straight hit him in the eye,” he explained.
Ajay discusses his eye surgery
Ajay Devgn added that the injury was severe enough to affect his vision for a couple of months. “Do-teen mahine toh vision chali gayi thi. I went through a little surgery also,” he revealed. Speaking directly to the camera, Salman remarked, “Action karoge toh ye sab hota rehta hai.” Ajay acknowledged, “Abhi toh phir bhi kaafi asaan hogaya hai aajkal k ladko k liye” reminiscing about how they used to perform action sequences without modern tools like cables or CGI.
About Singham Again
Singham Again, directed by Rohit Shetty, marks the return of Ajay Devgn as Bajirao Singham. Salman Khan is also set to make a cameo appearance in the film. The star-studded cast includes Ranveer Singh, Akshay Kumar, Kareena Kapoor, Deepika Padukone, Tiger Shroff, and Arjun Kapoor.
The film delves into the classic theme of ‘good versus evil’. As the third instalment in the successful Singham franchise, it follows the original Singham, released in 2011. Singham Returns which premiered in 2014. Both films were significant box-office successes. The third chapter is slated to be released this Diwali.
Salman Khan’s upcoming projects
Fans will see Salman Khan in Kick 2. Directed by Sajid Nadiadwala, Kick was released in 2014. It also starred Nawazuddin Siddiqui, Randeep Hooda and Jacqueliene Fernandez. Salman also has Sikandar, helmed by AR Murugadoss, in the pipeline. It is set to release next Eid. Rashmika Mandanna is part of the film.
