Ajay Devgn starrer Thank God has landed in a legal trouble. The Indra Kumar directorial also stars Sidharth Malhotra and Rakul Preet Singh. As per a report in IANS, a case has been filed against the director and also actors Ajay and Sidharth in a Jaunpur court by lawyer Himanshu Srivastava. The petitioner’s statement will be recorded on November 18. According to the petitioner, Thank God trailer has mocked religion and also hurt religious sentiments.
Srivastava, in his petition, has said that Ajay Devgn is playing Chitragupta wearing a suit, and in one of the scenes he is seen “cracking jokes and using objectionable language”. The petitioner said that Chitragupta is regarded as the Lord of Karma and keeps a record of a man’s good and bad deeds. So, “such depiction of Gods can create an unpleasant situation since it hurts religious sentiments”.
The director and the actors are yet to comment on the matter. Thank God is an upcoming comedy film that is slated to release in theatres on October 25, 2022. It features Rakul Preet Singh as the female lead. She is playing a cop. The movie will clash with Akshay Kumar starrer Ram Setu that will release on October 24.
Thank God trailer shows Sidharth as Aayan Kapoor who plays a common man. Ajay plays Chitragupt. Sid’s character meets with an accident and then he is stuck between life and death. He meets Chitragupt who offers him to play the “game of life.” He tells Aayan that he is neither dead, nor alive and he reminds him of his mistakes.
