Ajay Devgn to helm ‘Sons of Sardaar’

Bollywood’s Singham Ajay Devgn is busy with the pre-production details of his upcoming film ‘Shivaay’. The actor was recently in Bulgaria reconnoitering the locations for his home production. Now it is being revealed that Ajay will also be directing his next film after completing ‘Shivaay’.

Ajay Devgn has plans of making a film on the ‘Battle of Saragarhi’, that is to be titled ‘Sons Of Sardaar’. Earlier it was said that Ashwani Dhir will be directing the film but now it seems that Ajay has decided to helm the project. The ‘Drishyam’ actor will start work on it as soon as his film ‘Shivaay’ is canned.

Sources said, “Ashwani Dhir was to direct the film. Then Ajay realized it would become an extremely costly project. He then roped in ‘Ship Of Theseus’ director, Anand Gandhi to direct the film. After that, he changed his mind and decided to helm it himself. He wants to shoot ‘Sons Of Sardaar’ on an international scale — budget and technology-wise. He is very excited about bringing the Battle of Saragarhi to life and AJ will, in all probability, play the leader of the Sikh Regiment, Havildar Ishar Singh.”

Ajay Devgn will start work on ‘Shivaay’ in Bulgaria, he will be completing it in one schedule starting from January 16 onwards. The movie will hit the theaters by Diwali next year.
