On Friday, actor Ajay Devgn twitted that he has joined hands with Aditya Chopra’s Yash Raj Films to release his upcoming film Runway 34 in the international market. The film is produced and directed by Ajay, who is playing the lead role of Captain Vikrant Khanna. The edge-of-the-seat movie is written by Sandeep Kewlani and Aamil Keeyan Khan. It also stars Amitabh Bachchan, Boman Irani, Rakul Preet Singh and Angira Dhar.

In his tweet, Devgn wrote, “Happy to announce that @ADFFilms has entrusted @yrf with the International distribution of our upcoming film #Runway34, releasing this Eid on April 29th, 2022”. Yash Raj Films in their post wrote, “Yash Raj Films collaborates with @ADFFilms to release #Runway34 in the International markets”.

For the unversed, Runway 34 was earlier titled as May Day. It is inspired by a true incident of the Jet Airways Doha to Kochi flight that faced difficulties to land at the Cochin International Airport due to bad weather and unclear visibility in August 2015, due to which it had a narrow escape .

Ajay had said, “When I heard the story for the first time, I really liked it. I told my writers that I want certain changes in the story, and later I got busy, and then the pandemic happened. During the lockdown when we were sitting at home I recalled that we had worked on this story. It is not an easy film. Cockpit mein itna drama create karna kaafi challenging hai. This story is not just about turbulence in the air, but about turbulence in life.”
