The #MeToo movement in India had created momentum in the year 2018 when several Bollywood celebrities spoke fearlessly about the harassment cases that they went through. Over a period of time, it seemed like the #MeToo movement faded out. The makers of ‘Guilty’, brought back such a sensitive topic in the spotlight again with their Netflix film. Akansha Ranjan Kapoor who is currently garnering praise for her role in Karan Johar’s film spills the beans on the #MeToo movement of Bollywood.

The pretty actress has surely stunned everyone with her performance in the Kiara Advani starrer, ‘Guilty’ and the makers are rightfully getting appreciation for their film. Akansha Ranjan was caught candid in a recent conversation with us, where she spoke about #MeToo, feminism and much more. We had asked the actress to comment on how the #MeToo movement in India faded over the period of time. Akansha said, “People have such a short attention span, even if it’s like the Australian fire, everyone has forgotten about it. People talk about it for one week and then it’s over. So, of course, it’s the same case with #MeToo. And of course, we have restarted the conversation and we are glad. But something like this needs to always be prevalent. People always need to be held accountable for their actions. And #MeToo is such a great movement. It was like a long time coming and it’s here to stay.”
