Akshay Kumar and Katrina Kaif starrer Sooryavanshi to hit theatres this Diwali; makers announce release date

Akshay Kumar and Katrina Kaif starrer Sooryavanshi, directed by filmmaker Rohit Shetty is scheduled to release in theatres, this Diwali. The film will release in theatres in November this year. On Friday morning, Akshay Kumar made an official announcement about the release of his upcoming film Sooryavanshi. The makers of the film released a promo video, announcing the release date. Karan Johar, Katrina Kaif, Akshay Kumar, and others dropped videos on their respective social media handles and informed fans and followers about the release of Sooryavanshi.

On Instagram, Akshay shared the video and wrote, “Interval hua khatam, now it’s showtime! #Sooryavanshi releasing this Diwali, 5th November at a cinema near you. Come celebrate with us. #BackToCinemas (sic).” He informed that Sooryavanshi will hit the big screens, this Diwali, on November 5.

Katrina Kaif too shared the special video featuring Akshay, Ranveer Singh and Ajay Devgn. Sharing the video, she wrote, “18 months have passed since our entire entertainment industry including film & stage has been on a standstill due to the pandemic. It’s been a long difficult wait for us but finally patience prevailed and we are back! Now it’s not about just our film but it’s about our industry as a family and the relationship we share with our beloved audience! So let’s come together for the magic of cinema! (sic)”

Meanwhile, Sooryavanshi stars Akshay Kumar and Katrina Kaif in key roles. The film features Ranveer Singh and Ajay Devgn reprising in the roles of Simmba and Singham.

Earlier, the film was scheduled to release on March 24, 2020. However, the release date was postponed due to the Coronavirus pandemic. The makers then planned for a Diwali 2020 release, but had to further push it to April 2021.
