Akshay Kumar and Raveena Tandon to reunite after 20 years? Here’s what you should know

Akshay Kumar and Raveena Tandon were one of the hit pairs of Bollywood during the ‘90s. They have been featured in several movies like Mohra, Khiladiyon Ka Khiladi, Barood, Keemat: They Are Back, Police Force: An Inside Story. They were also dating for 3 years and even got engaged. However, they later parted ways and haven’t shared screen space together since then. Letting bygones be bygones, the OMG 2 actor was seen chatting with Raveena Tandon at an event recently. The couple was seated together too and were seen engaging in a candid conversation. Now as per the latest reports, the two will reunite after 20 years for Welcome 3.

A report by a news portal confirmed the news. A source cited by the portal stated, “Akshay and Raveena have worked together on multiple films including cults like Mohra. Their last collaboration was Police Force: An Inside Story. It has taken 20 years and a comic caper like Welcome 3 to bring the two of them together. While details of their dynamic in the film have been kept under wraps, however, it is unlike anything they have done before. The prep work is in progress and the shoot schedule will be chalked out soon. Both Akshay and Raveena are excited about this reunion”.

News about the third installment of the Welcome franchise has been doing rounds for a long time now. The official title of the film has been announced as ‘Welcome To The Jungle’. It will be arriving in cinemas on the occasion of Christmas 2024. The comic caper features an ensemble cast that includes Akshay Kumar, Sanjay Dutt, Arshad Warsi, Suniel Shetty, Disha Patani, and Jacqueliene Fernandez in the lead roles.

In an interview, Raveena had opened up about her ‘broken engagement’ with Akshay. She said, “We were a hit pair, during Mohra, and even now, when we bump into each other socially, we all meet, we all chat. Everyone moves on. Girls have been changing their boyfriends every week in colleges, but one engagement that has broken is still stuck to my head, I don’t know why. Everyone moves on, people have divorces, they move on, what’s the big deal?”
