Akshay Kumar lauding Shah Rukh Khan

The Mission Raniganj actor said, “It is hard to get into the commerciality of it. I hope the industry gives more and more hits. I was very happy when SRK’s film did so much good business and many other films running like Gadar 2, and OMG 2. It’s very good for the industry. The industry went through a bad patch because of the COVID time but now things are moving. It’s a great thing if 1000 crore is the benchmark, I hope we make films like 2000-3000 crore because the kind of cinema, the kind of screenplay value we have, Hollywood doesn’t have.”

Seeing his contemporaries’ successful films, Akshay was asked if he felt motivated as an actor. He said, “Commercial success is important because you have to make other films. But it also depends on what kind of commercial success we get. Like this movie (Mission Raniganj) is based on a certain budget, I won’t call it a commercial film. It isn’t a Jawan or a rowdy Rathore. It has a niche audience, and I am expecting business according to it. I hope it does great business. They are different genres, they are very good. Industry is booming with 500-600 crore coming in.”

Meanwhile, Jawan which was released a month back is still continuing to mint money at the box office. The movie was headlined by SRK and Nayanthara while it was directed by Atlee.
