Akshay Kumar’s Bell Bottom to have an OTT release?

Akshay Kumar has been basking in the glory of his last release, horror-comedy, Laxmii. Laxmii had an OTT release on Hotstar making Akshay the first superstar with a direct OTT release. The buzz is that Akshay’s another movie will go down the OTT road. After Laxmii, Akshay Kumar’s Bell Bottom is said to be in talks to have an Amazon Prime release possibly. Producers of Bell Bottom Jackky Bhagnani and Vashu Bhagnani have reportedly started exploring the possibility of a digital release.

According to a report by Bollywood Hungama, sources have revealed that team Bell Bottom is definitely exploring the direct to digital option of release, But it is said that it will take a months time before there is clarity on various prospects including the financials.

But ahead of Laxmii, the makers had released a teaser for Bell Bottom that read the movie will arrive “only in cinemas” on April 2. The source revealed in the report, “But a release on April 2 seems unlikely now, as another Akshay Kumar film [Sooryavanshi] is looking to arrive in the same period. Given the costs and several other factors associated with the film as also Akshay’s jam packed release calendar, the makers thought of exploring the digital release with Amazon Prime. The Bhagnani’s share a close bond with the digital platform and so does Akshay, and that’s how the meeting happened.”

Apart from Bell Bottom, Akshay will also be seen next in Sooryavanshi along with Katrina Kaif and Atrangi Re in which he stars with Sara Ali Khan.
