Akshay Kumar books Republic Day 2022 for Bachchan Pandey

Akshay Kumar, who has a packed 2021, has now announced the release of his movie Bachchan Pandey. The film, also starring Kriti Sanon, will release Republic Day, 2022. Akshay made the announcement by sharing a look of his from the movie which promises a never seen before avatar. Akshay kickstarted shooting for the movie just recently in Jaisalmer. The shooting is said to continue till March. A source had earlier revealed that the team will be flying down for a marathon schedule of over 60 days where they intend to shoot in real locations.

The team will be following all the protocols to ensure the shoot commences smoothly. Akshay and Kriti have collaborated earlier in Houseful 4 and their onscreen chemistry was much spoken about. The superstar wrapped up shooting for his period spy thriller, Bell Bottom, in Scotland and later resumed work on his period drama, Prithviraj, at a city studio. The movie will see him opposite Manushi Chillar, who makes her debut with YRF. Before beginning his shoot for Bachchan Pandey, Akshay also wrapped up his portions in Aanand L Rai’s love story Atrangi Re.

Bachchan Pandey is being directed by Farhad Samji and produced by Sajid Nadiadwala. This is Akshay’s 10th collaboration with Nadiadwala. In the film, Akshay plays a gangster, while Kriti plays a journalist. Bachchan Pandey will also star Jacqueline Fernandes. The film was earlier supposed to release in 2021 but due to lockdown, the shoot was pushed which led to further delay.
