Akshay Kumar comments on Sarfira, Bade Miyan Chote Miyan box office failures; says, “Kaam karte rahunga, till they have to shoot me down”

Actor Akshay Kumar launched the trailer of his upcoming movie Khel Khel Mein along with Vaani Kapoor, Taapsee Pannu, Aditya Seal, Pragya Jaiswal, Fardeen Khan and Ammy Virk. During the trailer launch, Akshay was asked to comment on his box office failures after the release of Sarfira and Bade Miyan Chote Miyan. Reacting to the same, Akshay Kumar said people sent him condolence messages after his film tanked at the box office. Regardless of people’s reaction, Akki asserted that he would keep working till people shot him down.

In the trailer launch, the Rustom actor said, “Main ye kehna chahta hoon ki jo hota hai ache ke liye hota hai. Itna main soch vichaar nahi karta. Main batata hoon… jaise ki 4-5 picturein nahi chali aise aise message aate hai jaise ki ‘sorry yaar, lekin tu fikar mat kar, sab thik hojayega’. Arre main mara nahi hu. Wo wale message hote hai na obituary or condolence wale message aate hai. Koi ek journalist ne likh diya, ‘Bhai, don’t worry, you will be back’. Main call karke usko bolta hu bhai back matlab kya, main gaya kaha hu? Idhar hi hun kaam karte rahunga, hamesha kaam karte rahunga chahe koi kuch bhi bole. Jo bhi kamata hu apne dum pe kamata hu. Kisi se kuch maanga nahi hai kabhi. And I will keep on working till they have to shoot me down.“

(What I want to say is that whatever happens, happens for the best. I don’t overthink it. Let me tell you… for instance, when 4-5 movies don’t do well, I get messages like ‘Sorry yaar, but don’t worry, everything will be fine’. It’s like they’re sending obituary or condolence messages. A journalist wrote, ‘Brother, don’t worry, you will be back’. I call him and say, “What do you mean by ‘back’? Where have I gone? I’m right here and will keep working, no matter what anyone says. Whatever I earn, I earn on my own. I’ve never asked anyone for anything. And I will keep on working till they have to shoot me down.)
