Akshay Kumar, the ‘Khiladi’ of Bollywood is not only popular for stunts but also for his kind heart generosity. Recently, when Chennai city faced a disaster caused due to heavy rains, many people came forward to lend their support.
Akshay Kumar felt very bad by seeing those shocking visuals of the disaster. To support the victims, he took the help of his friend and filmmaker Priyadarshan who suggested the name of Mrs. Suhasini Maniratnam, who was actively working for the flood relief work.
With her help, Akshay Kumar donated Rs 1 Crore to the Bhoomika Trust who has been working on food preparation and distribution in Chennai right from the day the disaster struck on December, 3. Director Jayendra who is the Managing Trustee of Bhoomika Trust, received the cheque.
Akshay Kumar had posted on his twitter account when this tragedy had taken place in Chennai. He had posted:
Heartbreaking to hear about the #ChennaiFloods wreaking havoc…hoping tomorrow is a bright and sunny day. Prayers with all those affected.

Last week, Shah Rukh Khan and his team of ‘Dilwale’ also donated the same amount of Rs. 1 Crore to the Public Relief Fund of Tamil Nadu’s Chief Minister.
