Covid-19 cases have been multiplying rapidly and resources like oxygen are becoming scarce. Lockdown restrictions have been announced by the authorities in order to curb the pandemic. Amidst this, Bollywood celebrities have come ahead to help ease out the situation. Among them is actor Akshay Kumar who donated Rs 1 crore to former cricketer-turned-politician Gautam Gambhir’s foundation as a help for the Covid-19 victims.
Taking to his Twitter handle Gautam Gambhir wrote, “Every help in this gloom comes as a ray of hope. Thanks a lot @akshaykumar for committing Rs 1 crore to #GGF for food, meds, and oxygen for the needy! God bless #InThisTogether @ggf_india.”
Akshay was all heart when he wrote back, “These are really tough times, @GautamGambhir. Glad I could help. Wish we all get out of this crisis soon. Stay Safe.”

She had shared a video of the CEO of Shanti Mukund Hospital in East Delhi’s Karkardooma, Sunil Saggar, who broke down in front of the camera and said, “…We’re hardly left with any oxygen. We’ve requested doctors to discharge patients, whoever can be discharged…It (Oxygen) may last for 2 hrs or something.”
Sushmita wrote, “This is deeply heart breaking…oxygen crisis is everywhere. I have managed to organise a few oxygen cylinders for this hospital but have no way to transport it to Delhi from Mumbai…please help me find a way?(sic).”
