Akshay Kumar and Emraan Hashmi starrer Selfiee goes on floor

Akshay Kumar and Emraan Hashmi are all set to collaborate for their next titled Selfiee. On Thursday, director Raj Mehta and Dharma Movies announced that Selfiee has officially gone on floors. Selfiee is a remake of the hit Malayalam comedy-drama Driving License. It is being directed by Raj Mehta of Good Newwz fame.

The Karan Johar-led Dharma Productions shared the news of Selfiee going on floor,  on the banner’s social media handle. They wrote, “Day 1 of #Selfiee & we need all your love, blessings and good vibes!”

Emraan Hashmi also took to Instagram and posted, “#Selfiee time”. The 42-year-old actor also shared a selfie along with the post.

Selfiee is produced by Karan Johar’s Dharma Productions and Kumar’s Cape of Good Films along with Sukumaran’s Prithviraj Productions and Magic Frames.

The original Malayalam film was directed by Lal Jr and it revolved around a superstar (Prithviraj Sukumaran) famous for his driving skills but losing his licence. However, the issue spins out of control after he locks horns with a motor inspector (Suraj Venjaramoodu), who happens to be a fan of the actor.

Akshay Kumar and Emraan Hashmi’s starrer Hindi version is expected to be released in cinemas later this year.

On the work front, Akshay Kumar will soon be seen in Bachchhan Paandey. The movie also features Kriti Sanon, Jacqueline Fernandez and Arshad Warsi in pivotal roles. Bachchhan Paandey will hit the big screens on 18th March 2022.
