Akshay Kumar and Emraan Hashmi to come together for the remake of Malayalam film Driving Licence? Deets inside

For the fans of Akshay Kumar and Emraan Hashmi who want to see them together sharing the same screen space, good news for them. The two stars are reportedly coming together for a film.

Yes, you heard it right. As per a report in News18, Akshay and Emraan will be seen together in Karan Johar’s next production. The movie will be directed by Good Newwz fame director Raj Mehta.

A source told the publication, “This is the first time the two actors are going to work together. The film is a remake of the Malayalam film Driving Licence which featured Prithviraj Sukumaran and Suraj Venjaramoodu in the lead roles.”

Akshay will reprise Prithviraj’s character who is a superstar while while Emraan will play the role of a traffic inspector who is also a diehard fan of the superstar.

The source further said that the shooting of the movie is expected to start early next year. Raj is currently finishing his upcoming film, Jug Jugg Jeeyo that has Varun Dhawan, Anil Kapoor, Kiara Advani, and Neetu Kapoor. “There is one song for which the unit will be traveling to Russia after which the film will move into the post-production stage,” added the source.

We are now waiting for the official confirmation from the makers.

On the work front, Akshay is currently gearing for the release of his upcoming film Sooryavanshi that is finally releasing in theatres in Diwali this year. The movie was postponed many times due to the Covid-19 pandemic. Apart from Sooryavanshi, he also has Prithviraj, Bachchan Pandey, and Atrangi Re. While Emraan was last seen in Chehre that also starred Amitabh Bachchan.
