Actor Akshay Kumar’s upcoming film ‘Airlift’ is based on a historical event of Kuwait Evacuation for which Air India has its name in The Guinness Book of World Records. Needless to say that ‘Airlift’ doesn’t fit the usual definition of a commercial Bollywood films where we expect nice songs to be present. However, director Raja Krishna Menon still decided to keep one song during a get-together sequence. .
However, another song has been added to the list. “It’s a number where after the crisis Akshay’s character retrospects on happier days. We shot it not as an after-thought but because it fits into the plot.” – said Menon, about the song.
Is the film appropriate to synchronize well with songs? “It’s a tense film. But there are songs. And they don’t break the film’s tension.”- Menon answered.
