Not coach, Akshay Kumar plays the manager of the hockey team in ‘Gold’

While there has been immense excitement about Excel Entertainment’s upcoming sports drama ‘Gold’ starring Akshay Kumar; Akshay’s character Tapan Das too has been creating buzz across quarters.

Tapan Das portrayed by Akshay Kumar is the manager of the Indian Hockey team who plays the most important role in forming the team and leading them to the victory. The teaser and trailer gave us glimpses of the determined manager wanting to win free India’s first Gold.

While Akshay Kumar plays the manager, Kunal Kapoor plays the coach of the team. Actors Amit Sadh, Vineet Singh, and Sunny Kaushal are seen as the players amongst others.

Excel Entertainment’s sports drama takes the audience back in time to witness the struggle of a team to make the nation proud. ‘Gold‘ starring Akshay Kumar releases this Independence Day, as it marks 70 years of Free India’s first Gold medal. ‘Gold’ is produced by Ritesh Sidhwani and Farhan Akhtar, helmed by Reema Kagti and is all set to release on the 15th August 2018.

Apart from ‘Gold’, Akshay also has films like ‘2.0’, ‘Kesari’ and ‘Housefull 4’ in his kitty. The actor recently wrapped up the first schedule of ‘Housefull 4’ in London and the film is set to hit theaters next year!
