Akshay Kumar imparts self defense training to women

Bollywood actors Sidhartha Malhotra and Akshay Kumar will soon be seen in Brothers, the actors are at present promoting the action flick at different venues. Recently Bollywood actor Sidharth Malhotra revealed that Akshay Kumar has launched a martial arts school to impart self-defence training to women in suburban Mumbai. He has imparted self defense training to around 600 women.

Sidhath Malhotra said, “It is highly-commendable with what he (Akshay Kumar) is giving back to society, especially to the women. He is a great martial (art) artist and he has taught them that… Girls will kick the guys who mess with them. We will go on graduation day to give certificates and I am excited about it.”

Confirming the news Akshay said, “Siddharth will join me while handing over the certificates to women. In few days, I will be giving certificate to 600 women as I have finished training them. Altogether we have finished training 4,000 women. I know it is a small number, but it is a good initiative as they have gained confidence apart from defending them. It is not about teaching them MMA but only the basics. Training them in MMA will take a lot of time and these are women who are working and they don’t have enough time.”

Brothers stars Akshay Kumar, Sidharth Malhotra and Jacqueline Fernandez in leading roles. It is slated for release on August 14.
