A delegation of Bollywood producers and actors met Prime Minister Narendra Modi, at Raj Bhavan to discuss the issues being faced by the film industry. The delegation included actors like Akshay Kumar, Ajay Devgn and also prominent film producers such as Karan Johar, Ritesh Sidhwani, Siddharth Roy Kapur, Bhushan Kumar of T-Series, the president of the Film Producers Guild, Rakesh Roshan, Ronnie Screwvala, Vijay Singh – CEO – Fox Star Studios and Prasoon Joshi, the chairman of the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) among others.
As per the PTI report, the film fraternity gave an overview of the vast growth potential of the entertainment industry to PM and also pitched for lower rates of GST for the industry in India. They also called in for the development of Mumbai as the global entertainment capital.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi has assured the delegation that the Union Government will consider the suggestions positively.
Talking about the meeting PM Modi later posted a tweet,

This was the second meeting of the filmmakers with the PM. Filmmakers led by Ritesh Sidhwani, along with actor Aamir Khan, had met the PM earlier this year.
