It is no secret that India was buzzing with pride when Neeraj Chopra bagged a gold in the Tokyo Olympics 2020 in Men’s Javelin Throw. Neeraj became the first track and field athlete to win an Olympic gold medal for India and the nation gave him a collective pat on the back as they showered him with love and congratulatory messages. His name is sure to go down in history and hopefully, his tales will be told for generations to come. Who knows there just might be a Neeraj Chopra biopic on the cards. As soon as Neeraj bagged the gold, netizens online began tossing out names of which Bollywood actor would play Neeraj in his biopic and one of them was Akshay Kumar. We have seen Akshay Kumar often starring in movies based on real heroes and real incidents so it was no coincidence that we asked the actor in a recent interview if he would like to play Neeraj in his biopic. But, Akshay, who was all love for Chopra, said he would do better in Khiladi Kumar’s biopic instead.
After Neeraj Chopra’s Gold victory at the Olympics 2021, netizens wanted Akshay Kumar to essay him in his biopic. There were memes too on the same. Akshay says he did come across all of it and laughs, “There is a scene from my first movie Saugandh where I throw that stick. I saw how nicely people have made a collage of that with Neeraj’s pictures from Olympics. Twinkle sent it to me and I replied to her saying, ‘I’ve already seen it before you'”
But will he be okay playing Neeraj in a movie on his life? The actor smiles, “Neeraj is a very good looking, talented man. He should play me in my biopic instead.”
