While Akshay has been receiving love for his performance from all over, his biggest validation came from the family of Jaswant Singh Gill.
Akshay Kumar on Jaswant Gill’s family’s reaction to Mission Raniganj
Recently in an interview, Akshay revealed that he spoke to Jaswant ji once before he passed away in 2019. When asked if the film release comes with a bittersweet feeling that Jaswant ji wasn’t able to see the complete film, the actor agreed. However, he did get a lot of love from the unsung hero’s family.
Talking about how the family reacted to Mission Raniganj, Akshay revealed that Jaswant ji’s daughter saw the movie with him. He shared, “That validation is important. I spoke to his wife, I spoke to his daughter, it is important. I cannot express what they said, it is something the words can’t (express), it’s a feeling, it’s their faces. Ek line hai, ‘Main te daddy nu tuade andar dekh liya’ ( I saw my dad in you). It’s the biggest validation a person can get if a person gets to do a role like that. The rest is the validation coming from the media, the audience and love coming from everywhere.”
