REVEALED: Akshay Kumar to play lead in Amazon Prime Original Series; announcement at an event today

Last year, there were reports that Hrithik Roshan has been roped in by Amazon for an original series that they were planning to make. Turns out, it was indeed true. But now, instead of Duggu, there will be another Indian superstar who will take centre stage. Yes, it’s none other than Akshay Kumar who will be making his digital debut with the show.

“Akshay was keen to try out the web space for quite some time and given that he’s got an astute understanding of the world around when Amazon came up to him and wanted to cast him, he readily agreed to be part of the project. Details of the project are yet to be revealed.” informs a source.

Last year, Saif Ali Khan jumped onto the digital bandwagon with ‘Sacred Games’ and sprung a huge surprise on the audience. Will Akshay also be able to garner the same reaction? Well, only time will tell that.

The announcement regarding this show will be made today evening with a grand launch. Invites have been sent to the media without any mention of Akshay and his entry has been kept as a huge surprise. But now, you know what the revelation will be all about.
