Akshay Kumar and R Balki are reuniting for a social drama?

After garnering success and accolades for ‘Padman’, filmmaker R Balki and Akshay Kumar are coming together for yet another social drama. This will be the second movie of Akshay and Balki after ‘Padman’ and it is apparently a woman-centric movie. A source quoted by DNA says, “The film is being called ‘Mahila Mandal’. In keeping with its title, it revolves around women. Nonetheless, the role that Akshay plays is of immense significance.”

Earlier, there were reports that Akshay Kumar and Balki were coming together for a project based on women scientists who worked on India’s Mars Orbiter Mission (Mangalyaan) in 2014. A report in DNA states that Vidya Balan, Nimrat Kaur among others have been approached and narrated the story. And apparently, they have said yes to it. Apart from Vidya and Nimrat, other prominent actresses are also likely to be a part of the movie.

Akshay will be in a social drama not for the first time. He was earlier seen in movies like ‘Toilet Ek Prem Katha’, ‘Jolly LLB’ and ‘Airlift’. It would be great to see Akshay and Balki collaborating for the second time and we are sure that this time too, the duo will create magic on-screen like their previous movie. Don’t you think?

On the work front, Akshay will be seen ‘Housefull 4’ where he is playing the lead role. The movie also has Kriti Sanon, Bobby Deol, Pooja Hegde among others. Due to the recent #MeToo movement, Nana Patekar and Sajid Khan were ousted from the movie.
