Akshay Kumar, Radhika Madan begin filming for Suriya’s Soorarai Pottru Hindi remake

Akshay Kumar and Radhika Madan will star in the Hindi remake of Suriya’s Soorarai Pottru. The filming has begun today. The film is yet-to-be-titled. Akshay is playing Suriya’s character in Soorarai Pottru’s Hindi remake. He will be seen romancing Radhika in the movie. Akshay has shared a video of the mahurat shot and asked his fans for title suggestions.

In the video shared by the Bachchhan Paandey actor on his Instagram handle, his co-star Radhika can be seen breaking a coconut. “With the auspicious coconut-breaking and a small prayer in our heart, we begin the filming of our yet untitled film which is about dreams and the power of it In case you’ll have any title suggestions, do share and of course your best wishes (sic),” wrote Akshay.

Radhika was seen in a red saree as she broke the coconut and director Sudha Kongara was also there with Akshay and Radhika.

Suriya’s 2D Entertainment has joined hands with Abundantia Entertainment to remake the Tamil movie.

The movie was released on Amazon Prime on November 12, 2020, and it was lauded by critics and audiences. It had also entered the Oscars race in the categories of Best Actor, Best Actress, Best Director, Best Original Score. But failed to make it to the final list of Oscar nominations.

The movie is based on the biography of Capt Gopinath, founder of the low-cost airline, Air Deccan. Soorarai Pottru also starred Aparna Balamurali, Mohan Babu, Paresh Rawal, Krishnakumar, Vivek Prasanna, and Karunas in pivotal roles.
