Akshay Kumar is all set to collaborate with producer Vashu Bhagnani of Pooja Entertainment and director Ranjit Tewari for the Hindi remake of the Tamil film Ratsasan. As per a report in Peeping Moon, Akshay will be playing the character of Vishnu Vishal in the investigative thriller. Actress Rakul Preet Singh will also be part of the movie. The report also states that the film is currently in the pre-production stage and will go on the floors in August in London. The cast and crew will fly to London on August 5, for a month-long schedule.
As per the report, Akshay will move to Ratsasan after he completes Aanand L Rai’s Raksha Bandhan that went on the floors recently. After wrapping up the shoot of Ratsasan Hindi remake, he will resume shooting for Vikram Malhotra’s Ram Setu whose shoot was halted in April due to the second COVID-19 lockdown. He will then shoot for the cameo appearance in the Oh My God sequel starring Pankaj Tripathi in the lead role.
Directed by Ram Kumar, Ratsasan is a story about an aspiring film director who becomes a cop after his father’s death. He is on a hunt for a psychopath who is killing school girls before his niece is endangered. The film was also remade in Telugu as Rakshasudu where Bellamkonda Sreenivas played the lead.
