Akshay Kumar is upset with Kapil Sharma, refuses to promote Bachchan Pandey on the show- Reports

All is not well between actor Akshay Kumar and comedian Kapil Sharma it seems. Well, reportedly, it is said that Akshay is miffed with Kapil and due to this, he will not be promoting his upcoming film, Bachchan Pandey which is scheduled to release during Holi. According to a report in Hindustan Times, the reason behind this fallout is because breach of trust. As per the report, in the previous episode when Akshay graced the show to promote Atrangi Re, Kapil asked him about an interview he did with a ‘famous personality’ where Kumar asked him how he liked eating mangoes. 

Even though Akshay took it sportingly at the moment, he reportedly asked the makers to edit that part as Akshay found it inappropriate to mock the dignity of such a high office. “Akshay took all of Kapil’s jokes head-on but the dig on the PM interview seemed to mock the dignity of such a high office. So Akshay requested the channel to not air that question. It is a right of the guests to make such a request as the show is not live. The channel agreed, but the said scene was leaked on the internet soon after,” says the source, adding, “It was a breach of trust on the part of someone in Kapil’s team, and Akshay sought clarification before he appears on the show again.”

“Hope all is sorted between Akshay and Kapil soon, otherwise the film’s promotion suffers, and the fans of the banter between the two continue to miss the fun,” added the source. It is also said that the shoot of the episode has been postponed for now.

Directed by Farhad Samji Bachchan Pandey stars Akshay Kumar, Kriti Sanon and Jacqueline Fernandez. The film is scheduled to release on March 18 in the theatres.
