A YouTuber named Rashid Siddiqui was accused of running malicious campaigns by publishing fake stories about Sushant Singh Rajput’s death. While he did manage to earn Rs 15 lakhs from their fake content they have also been slapped with a defamation suit by actor Akshay Kumar against whom they made fake accusations.

Rashid Siddiqui, 25, is a civil engineer from Bihar, and owns the channel ‘FF News’. A case is filed against him by Advocate Dharmendra Mishra of the Shiv Sena’s legal cell.

Akshay Kumar has served them a Rs 500 crore defamation notice on Tuesday. Siddiqui had made claims that Akshay was unhappy when Sushant bagged the movie ‘M.S. Dhoni’ and was also having secret meetings with Mumbai Police and Aaditya Thackeray about the late actor’s death. Akshay was also accused by the YouTuber of helping Rhea Chakraborty escape to Canada after Sushant’s death.

A senior IPS officer told the portal, “The actor’s death was used as an opportunity to earn money as people were curious about the case. Once the media started reporting different theories, YouTubers too grabbed the opportunity and started posting fake content. They maligned Mumbai police’s image and earned money during the lockdown.”
