Recently, there were reports that Akshay Kumar and Bhumi Pednekar-starrer ‘Toilet – Ek Prem Katha’ got leaked online. Apparently, a guy had the entire movie in a pen drive which was found in a gym. But, a source close to the movie informs that these reports were fake and it was a mere publicity gimmick by the guy to gain attention. Yet, there was no official confirmation on the same.
Today, at the press conference of ‘Toilet – Ek Prem Katha’, Akshay Kumar addressed the issue by saying, “Piracy nahi hui, galat baat hai, Crime Branch ne kuch hone se pehle hi use pakad liya tha. (There has been no piracy. Before anything could be published online, the Crime Branch stopped it) Nothing is there online, I would thank the Crime Branch for it.” (Also Read: Akshay, Bhumi, and Anupam Kher kickstart London promotions of ‘Toilet – Ek Prem Katha’)
Earlier in a post, Akshay had addressed the issue of piracy by writing, “The fight against piracy is critical and it’s reassuring to see the swift action taken by the Crime Branch on the unfortunate incident involving our film Toilet: Ek Prem Katha. I would like to urge my friends, colleagues, fans and audiences to please say no to piracy. Thank you for all your support.” [sic]
The movie’s trailer was appreciated by the Prime Minister Narendra Modi. So, when he was asked if he will hold a special screening for the PM, he said, “I’d love to. But the most important thing is that he looks after the whole country, and that is more important than watching a film.”
The story revolves around Keshav (Akshay Kumar) and Jaya (Bhumi Pednekar) who are married and residing in a small village. After marriage, Jaya learns that there is no toilet in the house and hence everyone has to go outside, away from the house for a toilet. She doesn’t quite like this and strongly opposes this which results into a tiff between her and Keshav. It’s then that Keshav decides to build toilets in the village. Will he be successful in his cause? Will he win back the heart of Jaya? These are some questions that will be answered when the movie releases on August 11, 2017.
