Ram Setu: Akshay Kumar starrer makers to recreate Sri Lanka in Mumbai

Akshay Kumar has been busy fulfilling his work commitments. He recently wrapped up the shooting schedule of the film Mission Cindrella and was then filming for Raksha Bandhan. According to reports, after shooting for Raksha Bandhan in Delhi, Kumar will move to his next project, Ram Setu. The report mentioned that Akshay Kumar will be shooting a song sequence for Ram Setu. It has been reported that he will shoot for the song with Jacqueline Fernandes. Akshay Kumar will be shooting for the Ram Setu song sequence in Ooty, said a source in the report.

According to a report in News18, a source revealed that the makers of Ram Setu are planning to erect a huge set in Mumbai. The source shared that the makers wanted to shoot the film at real locations in Sri Lanka, but aren’t doing so due to the COVID-19 constraints.

Sharing some details on the shooting schedule of Ram Setu, the source said, “Akshay, along with Jacqueline, are going to shoot for a song sequence.” The source in the report added, “The location of Ooty is a perfect backdrop for the script. The shooting will be wrapped by Friday before the action moves to Mumbai where a huge set has been erected.”

As per the report, the source further shared, “The production house wanted to shoot at real locations in Sri Lanka, but the country hasn’t yet fully opened up. There are some quarantine procedures which is making things challenging for the cast and crew.” “Since the makers had already had an encounter where the cast and crew tested positive in April, they don’t want to take a chance again. To avoid any further delays, they have now decided to create a set similar to the locales of Sri Lanka in Film City,” the source added. The source in the report mentioned that the shooting in Mumbai will start only after Diwali.

Meanwhile, the film Ram Setu features Akshay Kumar, Jaqueline Fernandes and Nushratt Bharuccha. The movie was announced during Diwali last year. It went on floors in March this year.
