Akshay Kumar’s ‘Mission Mangal’ and John Abraham’s ‘Batla House’ are clashing at the box office due to their same release date. ‘Mission Mangal’ is based on the lives of a team of scientists who worked on India’s Mars Orbiter Mission. It also stars Sonakshi Sinha, Vidya Balan, Taapsee Pannu, Kirti Kulhari, Nithya Menen and Sharman Joshi. ‘Batla House’ is based on the real life event that took place almost a decade ago on September 19, 2008. It was known as Operation Batla House. John plays the character of police officer Sanjeev Kumar Yadav who led the operation in the cop drama.
On Thursday, at the trailer launch of ‘Mission Mangal’, Akshay was asked about the clash of the two films and he said, “As John had said, ‘Make some noise for Desi Boys’. We have only 52 weeks in a year and more than 100 films are coming in a year. We are friends, so there is no problem in coming together with our films. Nobody should be blamed for it. Now 2-3 films are coming together. In the future, we will have even more films coming together.”
He explained that there is a time crunch and hence, there are so many movies being crammed together. Earlier, when John was asked about the same at an event, he said, “Make some noise for the desi boys! What else can I say?” While talking about the clash, the ‘Batla House’ actor said, “Akshay and I are dear friends. In fact, day before yesterday, we messaged each other. And there is absolutely no problem. We are just releasing two films on the same day. There is a lot of space and the audience is getting to choose from the best. I can say that the film is really good.”
