Akshay Kumar‘s patriotism need not be questioned! The superstar has delivered so many patriotic films and has always stood for the best of the country and well, his upcoming film ‘Gold’ too seems to one those proud films.
Based on the story of India’s victory in Olympics after acquiring freedom, the movie ‘Gold’ seems to showcase patriotism in the best form. Akshay probably would essay the role of Hockey player Balbir Singh who was an important part of this victory. But unfortunately, even before the film starts rolling, negative stories have started making to headlines.
As per latest reports, the daughter of Gold Medalist Balbir Singh is a little upset by the makers as they have not consulted his family as of yet. In an interview to Mid-Day, Balbir’s Singh’s daughter shared that ideally the makers should consult them.
“The media has reported that Gold (directed by Reema Kagti) is based on my father’s life since he was the star of the Olympics show. But, we aren’t sure about the subject and how much of it will delve into my father’s struggle. The 1948 Olympics revolves around many key players.” Sushbir Kaur (daughter of Balbir Singh) said.
Further stating, “He (Balbir Singh) was instrumental in getting the gold and we are his immediate family. Ideally, we should be consulted on this (film)”.
‘Gold’ is being directed by Reema Kagti. (Also Read: This deleted scene from ‘Jolly LL.B 2’ is Akshay Kumar’s favourite scene)
