Akshaye Khanna out, Paresh Rawal in as Sunil Dutt in Sanjay Dutt’s Biopic

Almost a month back we had confirmed that Akshaye Khanna will be playing the role of Late Sunil Dutt in the biopic of Sanjay Dutt, helmed by Rajkumar Hirani. However, seems like that is not going to be the case after all. The role has now landed in the kitty of Paresh Rawal and here we are going to tell you why.

The makers were very keen to cast Akshaye as his camaraderie looked good with Ranbir, who will be playing the titular role of Sanjay Dutt. But, no matter how much they tried, they could not make Akshaye look even remotely like Sunil Dutt, and hence, after many exasperating trials, he was dropped amicably from the movie.

Now, Paresh Rawal has been roped in to play the role, and we are sure that with his seasoned skills he will bring the role of Sunil Dutt alive.

A source stated, “Both Hirani and Akshaye respect each other a lot. They will definitely work together in future.”

An insider also revealed, “The film will showcase a beautiful father-son track. We are happy to have on board Paresh Rawal, who will be seen essaying Sunil Dutt in the film. As known, Sunil and Sanjay shared a deep bond in real life and Raju Sir is all set to recreate many of these heart-touching moments on celluloid.”

Well, the movie will see Ranbir Kapoor as Sanjay Dutt. Sonam Kapoor, Anushka Sharma, and Dia Mirza have also been finalised to be a part of it.

Well, now that the shooting of the movie has started, we are really keen to see Dutt’s life unfold on the big screen.
